Olympic House Hotel ★★★

Good location, clean rooms and friendly staff.

Breakfast room is too small and there’s room for improvement about the menu; no fresh food (i.e. fruits, vegetables). A/C wasn’t available during our stay.

The single room I was staying in was on the 3rd floor with a nice view on the street, it was small but clean; and the bathroom was not as cramped as others I've seen in London budget hotels. The position is excellent, a short walk from many Tube lines. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was absolutely adequate, for a budget hotel. All in all, good value for money!

The wifi in my room only worked for a few hours the first day I was there. For the rest of the time, it was impossible to connect my devices to the Internet using the hotel network. The staff tried to help and gave me the password for the network of the hotel next door, but the connection was slow and unstable, I could send e-mail but surfing the web and streaming videos was very difficult. The flush button on the toilet was very hard to press down. I hope they can repair it.

I like personnel, very friendly and helpful. I didn't expect big room from sigle room. But was a small shower. Also if have problem with noise, it's better to ask room in inner yards.

Small breakfast area

Location. Just around the corner from Paddington station. Also a few nice eateries and pubs close by.

Breakfast is a little underwhelming. Perhaps a bowl of fruit salad and fresh pastries would go a long way to improving. The army of breakfast ladies are friendly !

Mattresses need to be upgraded.

It is very near to Paddington Station, a lot of eateries and restaurants around, accessible by bus to other parts of London, the room is small but enough for solo traveller like me

The location was great and you could come and go as you pleased.

The concierge had a slight attitude while we were checking-in/dropping off our bags but somewhat warmed up to us soon.

The location was perfect (two blocks from Victoria, easy walk to Hyde Park). The breakfast was nice. The rooms were clean if a bit old-looking. Good value for the price.

My perceptions of this hotel may be colored by the room I was in. I was in the basement, with a window that looked directly into the breakfast area (which also had an easy view of my room). A fact I discovered when I took a shower on my first morning there and finished when breakfast had started. I left the bathroom to see a whole roomfull of people across from my window. There should honestly be a warning about that. Also, I was slightly resentful about the wifi situation. My phone wouldn't get a signal in the basement, so I was forced to purchase their wifi, which cost 5 pounds for 24 hours. Even with that, I couldn't make calls from the room using my phone nor could anyone call me. I asked the staff if I could be comped for the wifi at the very least, but they told me no. So basically, if you go to this hotel and want to be able to use your phone, make sure you avoid the basement rooms. And keep the window blinds closed. This hotel was also not equipped to deal with the extreme heatwave that hit during my stay. I know that the weather was a freak, unusual occurrence and it wasn't really the hotel's fault, but it definitely was an issue.

The breakfast and facilities were very limited. Breakfast time is also limited and you have to rush with it . Guest que up outside the room as space is small.

Room was basic but comfortable and functional. Service was correct. Very near to Paddington station.

Close to Paddington train/subway stations. It was clean. Neighbourhood was quite and nice.

My room was at the basement. Windows was opened to a small court surrounded by corridors. There was a terrible noise of ventilation. The bed was not comfortable. The breakfast could be much better.

The rooms are very very small even for a single bed room. Air conditioning, you must call at the reception each time to ask for it. No free wifi in the room and poor quality connection. Overall, everything seemed old. Need a relooking.

Location and cleanliness

My room was neighbouring the dining room and I got woken by noise from there daily . The other reception staff were friendly and helpful, but the older gentleman was very unfriendly and dismissive.

The beds were comfortable , the room was very clean and there was a 24 hours service from the reception.

We were a group of four and the room was small so we felt really crowded . The shower was very small and it was hard to move around . There weren’t any WiFi in n the room ,only in the reception. We had no control over the air conditioner.

It was very clean, staff were lovely and location was good. Paddington underground was just a 5 min walk away so was easy to get to other locations. Plenty of different eateries around the corner. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Only negative was the uncomfortable bed!

The room was clean, there is a lift, and the location is good.

The room was tiny, no tea or coffee making facilities, rooms at the front are noisy from road traffic, wifi is only free in reception (otherwise it costs £5 per day), poor choice and quality of breakfast, unfriendly staff.

The staff at reception were good. Room was very clean when I returned at night. Had breakfast one morning there and it was satisfactory.

My son and I were in a twin room. I do not like small living space. There was very little room to move around in bedroom. Shower was too tight to wash properly.
